You may expect something more glamorous or exotic but homemade muesli is what I eat most mornings. I mix it up myself to save money *plus* get it the way I want: 5 parts rolled oats (fiber), 2 parts walnuts (brain food!), 1 part raisins or craisins (sweetness). What’s in the bowl: scant 1/3 cup muesli soaked in water to just cover (I let it sit for about an hour while I practice yoga and meditation), fresh fruit, and a heaping spoonful of flaxseed meal. A giant plop of homemade yogurt and drizzle of honey finish things before I mix it all up and eat. The muesli amazingly fuels me for about 4 hours. I vary the fruit to keep breakfast interesting.
