I’m normally a morning person who happily sets the alarm to go out for a power walk at 6 am. But today was one of those days when I honestly thought we would never get out of bed. It’s been entirely dark, rainy and windy all day. ☔️ And I promised my daughter Tuva we would have hot chocolate with whipped cream this afternoon. And so we had!
Unfortunately I won’t get my kids to drink my Hot Protein Chocolate. But they do drink a variety made of cacao and maple syrup, which is slightly better than the store bought powder. To make 2 cups Hot Protein Chocolate:
• 1,5 cup oat milk • 3 medjool dates
• 2 tbsp raw cacao powder
• 2 tbsp hemp protein powder
• 1 tbsp almond butter
• 1/2 tsp powdered vanilla
• tiny pinch of sea salt
Blend everything until smooth and then heat gently in a sauce pan. Top with whipped cream (I must have “real” cream with this, but a plant based variety works too), powdered cacao and chopped dark chocolate ✌ I hope you have a lovely Wednesday evening ahead! ❤
