I spent the few hours of sunlight looking for unique foregrounds in case the Aurora Borealis came to play. I would commit those foregrounds to my GPS unit so that in the heat of the moment I could rely on my search to bring me back to that great foreground.
As Midnight approached, so did the #Aurora. When I could see the direction that she was coming from, I checked out the saved locations. I made my way from the warm, comfy car down a small hill of waist deep snow to get down to this gorgeous tree being pulled over by the heavy weight of the freshly fallen snow. I took my Canon EOS 5D Mark IV with the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM and found my way to within one foot of the tree so that I could frame the Aurora through it.” Camera: Canon EOS 5D Mark IV
