A lady who cut me off at the farmers’ market insisted on buying me a bunch of cilantro to call things even. I had a bunch already but took her gift as a sign of goodwill. To keep her karmic cilantro perky for a good week, I cut off 3 inches of the stem ends, stood the sprigs in a container with about 1-inch of water, loosely covered it with a produce bag and slid it in the fridge. The trimmed stems got chopped and used in our semi-leftovers lunch of scrambled eggs with chard, salsa, salad, and tortillas. #nowastecooking
